Fitzrovia Frieze

So today involved a trip to Fitzrovia to viddy me some art. First up was Justin Mortimer at Haunch of Venison on Eastcastle Street. Then down to Carroll Fletcher gallery to see work by John Akomfrah. It is a series of video works including a basement room with the floor completely covered in gravel, also containing a concrete monolith. The end wall is taken by a film in homage to Tarkovsky, with images of a rugged landscape, it created a very immersive environment. It's definitely worth a look - highly recommend it. Then to the Alison Jacques Gallery for Ian Kiaer, which was my main reason for leaving the house! It's a small space, but it's loaded with amazing pieces. Then on to the Frieze sculpture park which was awesome - my favourites were the pieces by Andreas Lolis, David Nash and Peter Liversidge. Please check it out - and not only that but the gardens look amazing with the changing leaves.
